Over-the-board success

So far this year, there have been a number of juniors who have entered in-person events, known as “over-the-board” or “OTB” events in the chess world.

Some notable achievements include:

  • Lenny Horn – 2nd place in the 8th Brentwood Junior Tournament – U18 Minor section | Chess Results
  • Rowan Kent – 2/2 in a recent round of the U1850 County Championship for Suffolk (adults and juniors) | Norfolk v Suffolk & Suffolk v Cambridgeshire
  • Oliver Ferris – 4½/11 in the British Rapidplay Championship (adults and juniors) | Chess Results

Also, former Suffolk Junior (recently turned adult), Jaden Jermy, had a very satisfactory performance at the 2nd Cambridge International Open, drawing with two International Masters (IMs) in the process.
