Suffolk Junior Chess Team

Suffolk Junior Chess currently competes in both over-the-board and online chess, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Over-the-board

In 2025, the East Anglian Chess Union (EACU) started an annual one-day under 18 jamboree event involving local counties, including Suffolk.

The 1st EACU Junior Team Championship was a great success and the organisers hope to run it for many years to come.

Join the SJC online club to take part in the following, and more!

  • Inter-county Blitz – first Monday of each month from 6pm-7:30pm – members of the SJC online club, compete in the Inter-County Blitz Team Battle on Lichess – organised by the English Chess Federation (ECF)
  • East Anglian Team Battle – fourth Wednesday of each month from 7pm-8pm – organised by Essex Junior Chess
